• Learn how to search for Books & eBooks
• Learn how to place a hold on physical items that are currently checked out or available from other NEOS libraries.
• Learn how to use Boolean Searching operators to get more precise results.

For GENERAL instructional strategies search for:

• "instructional strategies" OR "learning strategies" OR "effective teaching"
• try adding the words elementary or primary or children to remove results for adult learners

For SPECIFIC instructional strategies, use the name of the strategy in your search: 

• differentiation OR "individualized instruction"
• "individualized education programs" (use this term, not IPP or IEP)
• "effective teaching"
• "project-based learning" OR "project method in teaching" OR "inquiry-based learning" OR "problem-based learning"
• "active learning"
• "experiential learning"
• "classroom learning cent*" (use the * to catch centers and centres)
• "cooperative learning"

Do not add a specific grade level to your search. Instead, add a term to describe the general grade range such as primary (K-3), elementary (K-6), or "middle school" (6-8), for example:

• science AND teaching AND elementary

• literacy AND teaching AND primary
