1. Has the character of Mickey Mouse been deployed differently outside of comics as within them? Can a coherent character of “Mickey Mouse” be said to exist?

2. How does the medium affect the meaning when daily newspaper strips are collected in expensive hardcover books, such as with Floyd Gottfredson’s Mickey Mouse comics?
