How to Find

Borrowing Library Reserves

What are reserves?

When your professor says that a book or DVD is on reserve, it means that they have specifically asked the library to set that item aside for your class.

How do I access reserves?

To access these reserve items, stop by the Library Service Desk, tell us what class you need the item for and the title of the item you need (check your class syllabus for this information).

Unlike our other collections, you cannot go up to the shelves and browse the reserve collection.

How long can I keep a reserve item for?

Loan periods for reserve items are also a bit different. Depending on the length of time your professor has chosen, reserve items can be borrowed for:

  • 2 hours
  • 2 hours and overnight
  • 1 day
  • 3 days
  • 7 days
